In general, developing infrastructure in urban areas as well as all over the country will be a growing sector for years to come. Export earnings depending on the garment sector will have to be diversified integrating related industries and branching out to new products. The government established several export promotion zones to attract foreign investment with special incentives and to promote new investment outside the immediate mega city Dhaka and the port city of Chittagong. Raw materials can be imported tax-free under condition that it is used exclusively for the production of export goods. There is Tax-Holiday for industries within and outside the Export Processing Zones (EPZ) and duty-free import of machinery and raw materials for export-oriented industries.100% foreign equity allowed. Full repatriation of dividend and capital allowed upon exit. Bonded Warehouse and back-to-back Letter of Credit facility allowed for export-oriented industries. Avoidance of double taxation is based on bilateral agreements. Foreign investment in Bangladesh is guaranteed by an Act of Parliament against forfeiture and nationalization.

When working in Bangladesh, you will need an employment visa (E-visa) and a work permit. The latter will be issued in Bangladesh only. For shorter visits a business visa will be appropriate.
There are five established Five Star Hotels : Pan Pacific Sonargoan Hotel and Sheraton at the City Center, Westin, Radisson Water Garden & Regency Hotel near the Airport. There are a number of comfortable hotels in the Gulshan-Banani area, close to the diplomatic zone and new business area.
Shopping Centers offer a good choice of products from Bangladesh, India, China, South and South East Asia and even imported goods from Europe. Bangladeshi handicrafts provide a good shopping bargain.
There are a couple of agencies providing excursion facilities in beautiful river landscapes, tea gardens, coastal areas and cultural experiences with monuments from Bengal’s rich ancient period or handicraft workshops. The international community mixes with the Bangladeshi society in various clubs for recreational activities like tennis, swimming and others.
There are schools which provide international standard education up to grade 12 according to American, British or International Baccalaureate Curricula. There are also international standard colleges and universities including Notre Dame College, Dhaka University, BUET, IBA, North-South University etc.
